National Institution - University Library "St. KlimentOhridski "- Bitola is one of the five National Libraries in  North Macedonia with  the functions of university, public and other types of libraries. Bitola historically known as Monastir is the second largest city in the Republic of  North Macedonia. It is an administrative, cultural, industrial, commercial, and educational centre in the south-western part of North Macedonia. Bitola is also a grand old town that still bears the marks of its turn-of-the-century importance as a center for diplomacy – being  nicknamed “City of Consuls”.

National Institution - University Library "St. KlimentOhridski "- Bitola was founded in 1945 and has two functionally related objects represented one integrity and in its organizational structure is a hybrid library that unites service for children, adults and service functions as part of the University of Bitola University Library. Today has a collection of more than 600,000 books,  numerous magazines, non-book material, a collection of  local community writers and modest exhibition. The Library is connected to the network of virtual libraries in North Macedonia through the COBISS system and fully follows the guidelines for the development of library work recommended by IFLA and the UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

Our mission is a blend of traditional and modern library work, enabling our members to connect with the world of information through creative programs that include access to contemporary conceptual library materials, solving information and communication problems, supporting teaching processes as an incentive for improving the life and development of the potentials of the individual and society. Today the Library strives to become a true multicultural center in its environment, to penetrate the ever-increasing level of satisfaction of the end-user's scientific and research and educational needs through full automation of library processes. Through innovative programs for children, cooperation with educational institutions, non-governmental sector, municipal and regional enterprises and institutions, the library develops its programs as part of the wider community.
