The public institution City Library "Braka Miladinovci" is part of the integral system of public institutions that create the cultural core of the City of Skopje. Under the direction of the city authorities, cultural institutions create the cultural movements of The City as well as the state, in a wider framework. In this way, the cultural identity of the citizens of Skopje is being built,as the capital of the Republic of North Macedonia. The library as part of this network of cultural institutions preserving cultural heritage and in accordance with the directions of future cultural processes, adopts the obligation to protect the written word which is an inseparable part of the cultural heritage in the country.The public institution City Library "Braka Miladinovci" - Skopje is a system of 18 libraries:primary library and three central libraries, 14 clones and one mobile library, with departments for scientific literature, fiction, children's department, periodicals and reading rooms. In 2004, the City Library with the decision of the City Council of Skopje and The Mayor, is part of the system of public cultural institutions under the authority of the City. The City Library "Braka Miladinovci" fully covers the needs of the citizens of Skopje from its city and suburban area, covering a total of 24,000 users and a total book fund of 500 000 copies. In this way we fulfill the role of a representative city library which is a symbol of culture in the metropolis.

The main goal of the library is the SATISFACTION OF THE NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF ALL KATEGORIES OF READING PUBLIC, in accordance with the fundamental resource of our time - INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL. The vision of the Library is to represent a creative and flexible space of the future, which will satisfy the needs of digital learners, and at the same time will upgrade the traditional searches of users of print resources and will remain a quiet place to read. Promoting literature and love for reading, as well as supporting the commitment to reading and learning remains the core of the Library.
