Qingdao Library, also known as Qingdao Children's Library or Qingdao Ancient Books Protection Center,  is a municipal public cultural institution. It is located in Shinan District, Qingdao. As the significant information center and social education center of Qingdao, Qingdao Library was rated as National First-class library in 2005.

In 1924, Qingdao Public Popular Library was founded. In 1953, it was renamed as Qingdao Library. In July 2002, the new library building opened to public, with a floor space of 25,794 square meters. There are altogether 109 employees and 9 departments in Qingdao Library. We have a collection of 3.1 million items now, including more than 140,000 ancient books and 30,000 documents published during Japanese & Germany occupation period. 

Our central-branch library service network has already covered all districts in the city, including 100 service sites, 33 24-hour self-service libraries and 82 automobile libraries. Citizens can read anywhere or anytime they want.

The Qingdao Library public culture cloud platform contains a lot of service and sources, providing 380TB digital resource through website, Wechat, Sina Weibo and app. With digital reader ID, citizens can read  conveniently without coming to library.
