Huangshan library was founded in September 2011. After two years and three months, it officially opened on December 20, 2013. As a public welfare cultural facility in our city, Huangshan library has always been reader oriented, reader demand-oriented and put service quality and window image in the first place since its opening. It was rated as the "top ten libraries" in Anhui Province in 2014 by Anhui Public Library Reading Promotion Alliance in December 2014 and the "National first-class public library" on August 13, 2018.

The library is equipped with 1850 reading seats, 2 newspaper readers, 6 staff workstations and 5 self-service borrowing and returning machines. RFID technology is used to realize self-service borrowing and returning, reading and inquiry; Two 100m optical fibers, 100 reading computers, more than 4000 kinds of electronic journals, and full WiFi coverage in the library to meet the needs of readers for online reading; Digital library, public cultural information resource sharing project and wechat platform enable readers to realize remote reading. A new waterfall flow is set in the hall of the museum to customize the introduction and tourism strategy resources of all five a and four a scenic spots in our city and the recommended resources of national intangible cultural heritage projects in our city, reflecting the integration of culture and tourism and the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. The library vigorously promotes the "credit + reading" service, sets up a new credit reading book and self-service credit borrowing and returning system, and can handle certificates free of charge with its own credit score, which greatly improves the amount of certificates handled by readers.

Huangshan library now has 7 branches and 23 book borrowing points, including "Baida branch", "Golden sun branch", "Liyang branch", "party building theme branch", "Hui culture theme branch", "literature theme branch" and "Yanghu branch", gradually promoting the full coverage of reading network in our city.

Various reading promotion activities, material exhibitions and training lectures carried out by our library are diverse and wonderful. We have planned and carried out original service brands such as weekend "fun" school, "code" reading, reading star push official, family library, etc., which meet the diversified needs of all kinds of readers, further improve the social influence of public libraries and enhance citizens' satisfaction. The "Huangshan nature lecture hall" jointly built by Huangshan library and other units also won one of the ten good examples and practices of global geoparks for climate change mitigation and adaptation published on the official website of UNESCO in 2021, becoming the only case selected in China. Calligraphers writing Spring Festival couplets, guessing lantern riddles on the Lantern Festival, "world reading day Huizhou Reading Festival" series activities, Huangshan reader competition, book love donation, college entrance examination voluntary filling lectures, youth psychological counseling, summer college students' practice and so on have also become the signature activities expected by readers.

On the basis of giving full play to the four social functions of the traditional library of "preserving human cultural heritage, carrying out social education, transmitting scientific information and developing intellectual resources", Huangshan library expands its collection, deepens training, enhances interaction and realizes technological innovation, and strives to build Huangshan library into a cultural activity center, a regional public information consulting center The advanced cultural communication center that guides the reading direction and taste of the local public has truly become the cultural business card and cultural landmark of Huangshan City.
