Buddhist Branch of Hangzhou Public Library is adjacent to Three Temples at Tianzhu, Lingyin Temple and other Buddhist holy sites. It is a typical residential house in the south of Yangtze River with a wooden roof and decorated with wooden furniture as well. Such architectural design shows the oriental wisdom of simplism. At present, the library conserves nearly ten thousands of books on the themes of Buddhist classics, academic anthologies, Buddhist art, Zen tea and vegetarian food. Besides reading, readers can also participate in various kinds of salons, lectures, exhibitions and events. By studying calligraphy stone or tasting Zen tea, they can feel the charm of Chinese culture. In July 2013, Buddhist Theme Branch was praised by netizens as "the most beautiful reading place."
