The Chinese Lantern Festival, also known as Yuan Xiao Festival, is one of the most important traditional Chinese Festivals. It is celebrated on the 15th day of the first lunar month, marking the end of the Chinese New Year celebration.

 

Sine Han Dynasty(206 BC-221 AD), Yuan Xiao Festival has become an important part of Chinese culture. It is celebrated with a variety of customs and activities, including lighting and watching lanterns, guessing riddles written on lanterns, eating tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls.)

 

Lighting and watching lanterns:It could trace back to Sui and Tang Dynasties. People hand and light colorful lanterns in public places, such as parks and streets, as well as in private homes. The lanterns come in various shapes and sizes.
