Today is a big day for us. We honorably participated into the 23rd Biblioteche oggi Conference 2018 as specially invited guests with representatives from IFLA, AlA and OCLC. I made my debut by delivering a keynote speech on Hangzhou Public Library: To Meet and Lead the Diverse Users Education. My colleague Shou Xiaohui, who was invited by CNKI, introduced Chinese libraries, especially Hangzhou Public Library in another panel based on his own understanding.
Where there is a challenge, there is an opportunity. It was a great honor to join this conference and a good chance to introduce our libraries in the international library community. This librarian-exchange has extended beyond Milan Public Library to European library community.
This conference has been held by Associazione Italiana Biblioteche (Italian Library Association) in March every year since 1995. The theme of the year is digital reference, information literacy, e-learning. The aim of the conference is to explore its many facets in the light of developments in digital technologies and the evolution of reference methodologies.
