Chu shuqing, as a member of OCLC Asia Pacific Regional Council Executive Committee, attended the 9th OCLC Asia Pacific Regional Council Meeting in Tokyo, Japan, from Nov 28 to Dec 1, 2017.
“Hello, I’m the Smarter Library” was the theme of this meeting. The main agenda included Chair’s Welcome, OCLC’s Welcome, five plenary sessions, and guided tour of Waseda University Library.
During this meeting, attendees witnessed how “smarter libraries” could remake user experiences to be more customized, effective and intuitive. And they saw how, by applying and strengthening professional values, libraries could strengthen the communities they served.
Besides, the location of the 10th OCLC Asia Pacific Regional Council Meeting was announced. Thailand will be the host in 2019.
