Taipei National Central Library Paid Visit to and Conducted Exchange at Hangzhou Public Library


 

On afternoon of 26th October, three directors from the collecting and cataloguing team, reading team and information team of Taipei National Central Library respectively paid visit to Hangzhou Public Library and conducted communication. Chen Qi (director of the Cataloguing Center), Zhou Yulin (director of the Literature Borrowing and Reading Center), Liu Lidong (vice director of the Comprehensive Office) and colleagues from the Technical Support Division accompanied these visitors and held symposia. At the symposia, both Parties conducted communication for such aspects as the literature browsing quantity statistics, reader service mode, literature logistics, OCLC cataloging work, cataloging business outsourcing, literature acceptance, personnel composition and so on.


Taiwan government had the intention to strengthen the library property management (especially the literature property safety), Ms. Li Yirong, director of the cataloging team of Taipei National Central Library, was very interested in the literature acceptance flow of Hangzhou Public Library and how to ensure the literature property safety during literature processing. After listening to detailed introduction of the literature acceptance and delivery flows and specifications by Chen Qi (director of the Cataloguing Center), Ms. Li Yirong gave high remarks on that Hangzhou Public Library could achieve uniformity among the orders, acceptance lists and delivery lists and zero error rate in delivery. She thought that these are great innovations by Hangzhou Public Library and are models for other libraries.


With this communication, it greatly promoted mutual understanding between Hangzhou Public Library and Taipei National Central Library, and also provided a base for both Parties to establish the fine interaction relationship.
