On Aug 1, a delegation of 210 Hong Kong youngsters visited Hangzhou Public Library, which belonged to the exchange activity of youth from Zhejiang and Hong Kong for celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland starting in Zhejiang on July 30 and lasting until Aug 4. About 2,000 youngsters from Hong Kong participated in the activity.
During the visit, they were deeply impressed by the advanced services provided by library, such as ‘Credit Borrow-and-Return Service’, launched in early 2017 to expand target readers from local residents to people of the whole country. “readers with proper credit scores can borrow books online without deposit” Shou Xiaohui, director of Circulation Center noted. A HK high school student even collaborated with Shen Jing, a librarian to complete a piece of calligraphy work together, which wrote “It is always a pleasure to greet a friend from afar”.
Besides, the delegation also watched the grand open-air show Enduring Memory of Hangzhou, paid a visit to Hangzhou City Planning Exhibition Hall, Handicraft Exhibition Museum, Grand Canal Museum, etc.
