Bollywood Classic Films are Waiting for You!”Indian Film Festival 16-23 June 2017” Opened in Hangzhou Public Library


Recently, the Indian film " Dangal" has been released in cinemas around China, which quickly became a huge success and extremely welcomed by audiences. As an indispensable part of Indian Week in Hangzhou, which consists series of events, ”Indian Film Festival 16-23 June 2017” opened in Hangzhou Public Library on June 16, jointly organized by Consulate General of India in Shanghai along with Hangzhou Municipal Government, and co-organized by Hangzhou Public Library.
The grand curtain-raiser to launch ”Indian Film Festival” were graced by Prakash Gupta, the consul-general, Kong Desheng, deputy director of Hangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, and Chu Shuqing , general-director of Hangzhou Public Library.
This festival has selected seven most popular films in India to be screened, including "Pk", "Three Idios", "Queen’s Journey", "Stars on Earth" and so on, consisting the elements of traditional Indian musicals, legends, comedies, etc. For Indian film fans, those are the last things they want to miss.
Zhejiang province has been a key business partner for India in the Eastern China region. Hangzhou, as the capital city of the province, hopes to hold India Week to introduce the country to its citizens. Of the series events, Indian Art Exhibition and Indian Food Festival have  been launched so far and more events will be expected in later days. Chu Shuqing hoped that movie lovers and residents can enjoy the natural scenery and cultural charm of Indian through this very Indian Film Festival.
