In the afternoon of 5th April, John Fowler and Emma, both consular officers of Australian Consulate General Shanghai came on their first visit to Hangzhou Public Library.
Since 2012, Australia Consulate General has supported Hangzhou Public Library through donations of Australian magazine subscriptions for its Australian Friendship Collection. In 2016 Australia Consulate General expanded the library’s Australian collection to include a full set of Australian Text Classics plus an additional 150 popular/award-winning Australian books. The magazines and books are very welcomed by the readers and John Fowler said they would like to donate more books introducing Australian cultures and histories to Hangzhou people.
