Mr Chu Shuqing, general director of Hangzhou Public Library, was elected as a new member to the Asia Pacific Regional Council Executive Committee for the term beginning 1st July 2017 and ending 30th June 2020. The result was formally announced at Global Council on 29 March, 2017.

OCLC Global Council convened on 27–29 March in Dublin, Ohio, USA. Delegates elected Peter Sidorko, University Librarian at The University of Hong Kong in Hong Kong, to the OCLC Board of Trustees. Peter will take his seat on the Board in November 2017.
The Americas Regional Council (ARC); the Asia Pacific Regional Council (APRC); and the Europe, Middle East and Africa Regional Council (EMEARC) also announced election results. OCLC member institutions' voting representatives elected the individuals listed below to serve three-year terms on their respective Councils beginning 1 July 2017.
