Tens of thousands of foreign friends live in the city of Hangzhou at present. They study, work, live and have families here. Some just arrived, some will be leaving when they’re ready for next destination. While we’re welcoming and sending them off, they enrich our demographic structure, make our city more diversified, more inclusive and become the vivid books for us to know the world.
In the year of 2017, we gather friends from abroad who stay here, and listen to their own culture, their experiences. Through their impression of the world, we find our way to perceive the world.
The “Voices of the World”-2017 International Art & Culture is hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal Government, co-hosted by Hangzhou Public Library and the Watermelon Punch Cultural and Creative Ltd. Co. On March 3rd, the opening ceremony was held in Hangzhou Public Library. The program for each month of the year was finally unveiled that day.
After Zhanna from Watermelon Punch introduced us the foreign artists involved in the “Voice of the World”, we had Daniel, a guitarist, singer and an artist from the South America, to bring us his amazing guitar show; Anton, the violinist from Russia, to bring us his violin solo; Elizaveta, a performer at a traditional Russian musical theatre, to bring us a solo; finally Tonny, first winner of 2017 Thailand Swing Contest, to bring us a swing dance with Zhanna.
In this year’s “Voices of the World”, we’ll watch more performances, hear more voices. We hope that you can follow our “Voices of the World”2017 International Art & Culture.
