The unveiling ceremony of “Gifu Cultural Exhibition” took place in the morning of February 17 in the lobby of HPL. A 13-person delegation headed by Shigemitsu Hosoe, mayor of Gifu city attended the ceremony.
The Library director Chu Shuqing delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his sincere gratitude to the mayor and the efforts made for the exhibition by their staff members. He said that “we hope to deepen our understanding in Gifu culture through the exhibition, and promote more cultural exchange with the city. Besides, we expect more international artists to reveal their genius art creation here. Thus, library users will get more opportunities to feel cultural diversity. ”
Shigemitsu Hosoe, recalled his last visit in March 2015, and hoped that through the photos, crafts, comics and the video about ODA Nobunaga & Gifu on display, more Chinese people will be attracted to go sightseeing in Gifu, the heartland of Japan.
