Invited by the 21st Century Insitute, Shi Chunlin, a librarian of Hangzhou Public Library and other 12 librarians from Zhejiang Province paid a visit to the United States for a training course regarding the modern public reading services in USA from October 23 to November 12.
During the visit, the delegation involved into the program planned by the 21st Century Insitute. Besides formal seminars and workshops, they also visited different kinds of libraries, including Chicago Public Library, New York Public Library, many community libraries, and other cultural agencies and organizations.
“I‘m honored to participate in the training tour, what strikes me most is that their community libraries are so actively participating in the construction of the community, promoting the racial integration. I also didn’t expect that everyone there has such a strong concept of election which is so different from us.” said Shi Chunlin.
