Citizens of Hangzhou are ready for welcoming international friends as G20 is getting closer. Since communication is indispensable, Hangzhou public Library hosted an English Salon in Research Room 9 in Special Collection Center on June 26, in order to better introduce our city to the foreign guests.
The speaker Paul (Pu Hengda) graduated from the University of Toulouse, France, and stayed in France for many years. He shared what he saw and heard abroad with the audience and brought an air of romance.
It’s worth mentioning that the participants were mostly the elder people, which shows that G20 inspiring the learning enthusiasm of people of all ages.
Paul introduced the common expression like self-introduction, tourism and scenic spots, and then asked participants to practice in groups. People tried to introduce the very famous scenic spots like Liuhe Pagoda, West Lake and Su Causeway in English. The salon won a high praise and the participants expressed their expectations for more activities.
