What We Do
2018-09-28
China-CEEC Libraries Union was established on October 20, 2018 in Hangzhou.
Mission Statement
Exchanges and Cooperation
A collaborative system of sharing bibliographic data will be established for joint disclosure and use of library collections among the union members. Regular exchange of visits among the union members will be in place as a mechanism to share our experience in library development. Meanwhile, member libraries will take turns to provide training courses for librarians, including the construction of digital resources, innovative library services and other subjects. Communications and exchange of literatures will be organized among the union members to provide people with an access to the classic works and latest publications from other countries. Space for exhibitions will be provided among the union members from time to time to showcase the history, culture and cities of the host country. A miscellany of multi-cultural activities, filled with creative schemes, will be organized to promote the cultural exchange among member states. Each member-library will be free to choose a project they are interested to participate in as well as the project partner(s) they are willing to collaborate with. Support of such projects will be subject to such library's available resources, financial possibilities and budget restraints.
