Ningbo Municipal Library was founded in 1927, set up as a comprehensive public library. It covers an area of 1.2 hectares, with a collection of more than 1 million 800 thousand books and massive amount of digital resources. Ningbo library possesses the most abundant, complemented collection variety, local records and back issues of press in Eastern Zhejiang.
