On 5th February 2012, at invitation from Moscow Алексеевич Central Research Library, Su Hui (vice director of Hangzhou Public Library) and Ma Zhenjia (librarian from the Research and Exchange Division) went to Moscow and conducted business exchange and study for 14 days.
Moscow Алексеевич Central Research Library is the national public library business scientific research center, multi-field cultural communication and scientific research information institution located at the Capital of Russia, and it is also an organization of multi-subject information consulting and conducting mind communication with the readers. Its first director was Barker Lovskey, who was the leader of libraries in Former USSR and a figure like encyclopedia. The first project site of “Special Zone for Overseas Book Reservation-the Image of the West Lake” of Hangzhou Public Library was just established in such library. With this exchange activity, both Parties exchanged information on their own libraries and conditions in cultural field, and mutual understanding and communication were further promoted. The special zone for book reservation- the Image of the West Lake was used in a fine way, and played an important role for publicizing Chinese culture and Hangzhou and so on.
In addition, during exchange, the vice director Su Hui and the librarian Ma Zhenjia also provided professional support for cataloging for the donated Chinese books for the cataloging division of that library and assisted to complete the cataloging work.
