Hangzhou was the capital city of the South Song Dynasty thousands of years ago. The Charm of the Song Dynasty Theme Branch of Hangzhou Public Library opened in 2022 with 20000 volume of books. The collection here mainly focus on books of the pround histroical culture of the Song Dynasty. Since April 2022, "A Journey to Experience the Charm of the Song Dynasty Through Paintings", a series of live broadcasts inspired by Complete Works of the Paintings in the Song Dynasty , are in progress.

In order to further spread the charm culture of the Song Dynasty, jointly explore its connotation, inheritation, protection and utilization, Hangzhou Public Library and the Office of Hangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries jointly planned the series events of "A Journey to Experience the Charm of the Song Dynasty Through Paintings", so as to create Hangzhou's culture Intellectual Property, the city's international brand and welcome the upcoming 19th Asian Games.
Episode4 Tea Art in the Song Dynasty
Based on the the characteristics of the public library, the events have selected some wonderful themes related to the charm of the Song Dynasty in Complete Works of the Paintings in the Song Dynasty, taken the experience perspective of foreign friends in Hangzhou as the main line with the simple explanation of the guest lecturer and the demonstration of professional teachers, and merged them into short videos showing the life style and life aesthetics of the Song Dynasty. According to each theme, the event explored the footprints of opening up and communication in the Song Dynasty, enhanced the leading role of city cultural publicity and promotion overseas. By this network dissemination, we shared the events with readers at home and abroad, and explored a new mode of display and experience of the charm of the Song Dynasty.
Till now, "A Journey to Experience the Charm of the Song Dynasty Through Paintings" has published 6 episodes of 9 ones planed, from which readers could feel the beauty of culture of the Song Dynasty. The events have received warm responses from the society. Every episode has attracted about 90000 people to view respectively. From this event, citizens and friends overseas who are interested in Chinese culture have been motivated to understand and explore more about the Song Dynasty and its culture thousands years ago, which still shines its brilliant light at present.
