Deputy Consul-General of Consulate General of Australia in Shanghai Visited Hangzhou Public Library

On 19 Oct, Mr. David Warner, deputy Consul-General of Consulate General of Australia in Shanghai, leading the delegation, visited Hangzhou Public Library. Ms. Na Yan, who supervises library affairs from Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism and Ms.Hu Fang, the deputy director of the Library warmly received the guests. The reception was also supported by the attendance of Hangzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.

Ms. Na Yan and Mr.David Warner had a friendly talk. Ms.Na Yan recalled that since 2012, Consulate General of Australia in Shanghai has established friendly relationship with Hangzhou Public Library.The books donated by the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai to Hangzhou Public Library have enriched the collection resources, enhanced Hangzhou citizens' understanding of Australia, and laid a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation and exchanges in various fields. She hoped that the two sides could continue their friendship and deepen cooperation, so that Hangzhou citizens would enjoy the cultural characteristics of Australia and more Australians would experience the unique charm of Hangzhou through multi-cultural activities. On behalf of Hangzhou Public Library, the deputy director Hu Fang welcomed Mr. David Warner and his delegation, accepted donated books, and accompanied them to visit the music and film branch libraries, Cultural Space of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 and the international literature exhibition area of overseas friendship libraries.

On the third floor of Hangzhou Public Library, there are books donated by friendship libraries from more than 10 countries such as Russia, Ireland, Italy and South Korea in the international literature exhibition area, including ones donated by the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai to Hangzhou Public Library over the years. Mr. David Warner, deputy Consul General of the Australian Consulate General in Shanghai, appreciated the efforts of the Library in the field of foreign culture communication and expressed his willingness to continue to deepen and expand bilateral cooperation in the future.
