Consulate of General from Australian Consulate-General Shanghai Visited Hangzhou Public Library


On Sep 22, 2020, Dominic Trindade, the Consulate General from Australian Consulate-General Shanghai who led a delegation, paid a visit to Hangzhou Public Library. Zheng Zhiwei, the officer representative from Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, TV, Radio, and Tourism, Liu Dong, the general director of Hangzhou Public Library, Hu Fang, the vice director of Hangzhou Public Library met with the delegation. After a short review on the friendship history between Hangzhou Public Library and Australian Consulate-General Shanghai, both parties showed strong confidence towards the next cooperation in the future and were willing to enhance online and offline communication including book donation and co-exhibition. In the end, the delegation toured around the library and took a picture at the Australian Friendship Collection.

 

Since 2012, Australian Consulate-General Shanghai has donated over thousands of books, periodicals and magazines to Hangzhou Public Library. On Aug 30, with the mutual effort of Graeme Meehan, the then Consulate General of Australian Consulate Shanghai, and Chu Shuqing, the then general director of Hangzhou Public Library, the library set Australia Friendship Collection, which was the second one in Yangtze River Delta area. From July 24 to Aug 24, 2016, Ordinary Hangzhou, International Photo Exhibition co-exhibited in Canberra Civic Library, Australia.
