After careful preparation by colleagues from both libraries, the "Window of Hangzhou" special collection area has successfully settled in the University of Macau Library, where more than 150 books with the theme "Window of Hangzhou" selected by the Hangzhou Public Library are displayed. The books cover various aspects of Hangzhou's history, culture, tourism and economy, with 100 volumes of "Hangzhou Tourism Guide" supported by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV and Tourism available for on-site reading, providing readers with a richer way to understand Hangzhou. Meanwhile, this exhibition displays about 50 photos of Hangzhou's urban scenery provided by the Hangzhou Public Library, comprehensively showing Hangzhou's history, culture, natural scenery, urban construction and humanistic features.

Liu Dong, Director of the Hangzhou Public Library, said in his congratulatory letter that this is the first project between the Hangzhou Public Library and the University of Macau Library after signing a cooperation agreement in 2023. He hopes that through these photographs and documents, which are rich in Hangzhou’s cultural characteristics, UM teachers and students, and Macao citizens will have a better understanding of Hangzhou and appreciate its“beauty of charm”.

Wu Jianzhong said in his speech that both Hangzhou and Macao are famous historical and cultural cities, and therefore exchanges between libraries in the two places are of great significance. This exhibition is a cooperation achievement between the two libraries and also a window for cultural exchanges between the two places. The two libraries will continue to strengthen exchanges, deepen cooperation, and continue to provide a platform for in-depth understanding of each other's regional cultural characteristics.

This exhibition will be open until 31 May 2024.
